Wise Design & Remodel are a design – build remodeling company serving the twin cities and neighboring areas. Our team of dedicated professionals are both experienced and passionate about remodeling. We pride ourselves on remodels that both function well and look amazing, while working hard to make the process as smooth and fun as possible. We look forward to hearing from you about your project.

Philip Hide

President

The first thing you might notice about remodeler and designer Philip Hide is his British accent. He started his career in North London, England, where he ran his own remodeling business before moving to Minnesota and starting Wise Design & Remodel. Having been involved in the remodeling industry for over 25 years, he is an experienced tradesman, project manager and designer.

One of the advantages of learning construction in London is that Philip really understands how to remodel older homes. “Many of the homes we worked on in North London were built from around 1880 and sometimes much older. There were often many challenges to deal with. Finding creative and effective solutions was part of the process.”

Philip met his wife Julianne while she was a St. Kate’s student studying abroad in London. They were married in 2007 and moved to Minneapolis in 2014. They have 3 children and a German Shepherd dog named Bear.

Julianne Hide

Showroom Manager / Designer

Julianne shares Philip’s passion for transforming homes into beautiful and functional living spaces. She helps manage the showroom and assists with design work.

Julianne graduated from St Kate’s University in St Paul. She lived in London for 9 years before moving back to Minneapolis in 2014.

Julianne has a passion for music and theatre. She also loves yoga and traveling, but most of all spending time with her family.

Jason Miskowiec

Architect and Designer

Jason has over 15 years of residential Design experience. His time spent working, studying and traveling in destinations such New York, Paris, Chicago, Oaxaca & Minneapolis have all had an immense influence on his passion and understanding of people, design and the built world.

Jason is a keen Viking's fan, but his greatest passion is in travel and food, combining his love of world Architecture and culture. He keeps his office and apartment filled with plants and books. Jason also enjoys bike tours around the city.

Jason Miskowiec's educational background includes a Bachelor of Architecture at the College of Design at the University of Minnesota, where he went on scholarship from the Wallin Foundation and a Masters of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Tim Leirness

Project Manager

Tim has been in the remodeling industry for nearly 20 years and has a lot of experience in both interior and exterior remodeling. Tim enthusiastically helps manage the projects with a friendly, client focused approach, his people skills shine in this role. He works hard, keeping the clients informed and the jobs on schedule ensuring each of the trades have what they need.

Tim is married with 2 children, he is a devoted husband and father. In his free time Tim enjoys working out, playing golf and watching baseball.

Derrald Peterson

Cabinet Specialist

Derrald has been in the cabinet industry for 40 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the company.

Over the years he has honed his cabinet making skills and partnered with many of the top designers in the twin cities, completing hundreds of kitchens and custom cabinetry projects.

Derrald lives in Minneapolis, he is married with 3 sons. He enjoys the outdoors, boating and photography when he has free time.

Jhony Perez

Jhony has over 20 years experience as a carpenter and framer. He is a skilled craftsman and has a passion for remodeling homes. Jhony always brings a cheerful attitude to the job site and our clients love having him on their projects.

Jhony has 3 daughters and enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends.
