We had worked with Wise Design for a kitchen remodel several years ago, and called them for our bathroom remodel with no hesitation. The quality and craftsmanship is impeccable, as is the service and overall experience.

Phil and his team reinvented the upstairs space of our 100 year old home beautifully. Phil is an expert at making homes work for families while maintaining the beauty, quality and integrity of old homes. He pays attention to the smallest detail from the first step to the last, and he values quality work. Phil's lovely design sense combined with brilliant ideas to efficiently use of every inch of our small house made our project turn out better than we could have hoped. There is a seamless transition from our existing old home to the renovated new spaces upstairs. Phil and his team communicate well, they are responsive to messages and questions, they are kind, honest, and most importantly, they do what they say they will do! Phil went above and beyond on our project in ways that we will be enjoying for years. Wise Design re-roofed my house and also repaired the top of my chimney September of 2021. Two years on the roof and the chimney repair are all perfect and I've had no water or ice issues the 2 winters since.

As part of that work I also had a light tunnel put into my kitchen which was an amazing addition to my house. The light that it adds to the room is amazing, especially since the house to the south is taller.

I was so happy with the company after this that I hired them again for a much more extensive project in 2022.

The estimator (Phil) communicated very clearly about scope of work, options, timelines, and even variables - like, stuff we won't know until we open the work area and which could contribute to change orders. We in fact had one of those where we discovered some decomposition due to water leakage. We promptly adjusted the plan and it still was all within my expectations. I always felt I was getting straight answers and explanations that made sense. I think they went a little above and beyond and probably didn't charge me as much as they could have for the unexpected issues we had to address.

The job started when expected. The crew was prompt and friendly and cleaned up each day and put in some pretty long hours. The treated my wife like the homeowner and not just the lady of the house. The quality of their work was top notch.

I'm pretty sure Phil and his crew can do most kinds of work might want to do on your house, but I also think he's the kind of guy who would tell you "I can't do that" if you asked for things out of his scope. That kind of integrity is hard to find. Any project I can do in my house, Phil and his crew would be welcome to take on.

I was fortunate to see other work this crew had done before hiring them. Between what I'd seen and my own experience, I give them my unqualified recommendation.

Wise Design and Remodel took our vision of what we wanted the outside of our house to look like and made our exterior even better. Our house is so beautiful now that some of our neighbors have begun to improve their exteriors as well. Everyone at Wise was so helpful, responsive, creative, and a delight to work with throughout the remodel of our exterior. Top notch work and service from start to finish!

Phil and his team did an outstanding job on our basement remodel project. The exercise room, complete with custom sauna, is amazing!! Furthermore, the custom wet bar with a built in wine rack is spectacular! Phil's attention to detail and his honest opinion regarding value added options was much appreciated. Very high quality craftsmanship! We won't work with anyone else after this!

Our kitchen remodel couldn't have turned out any better! We needed major updates to our space but wanted to honor the Craftsman charm (with a touch of Prairie School) in our beautiful old 1914 home. Phil's patient and collaborative approach paid off in the creation of a design plan that perfectly complements our home and creates new functionality, but without compromising the vintage aesthetics of the space. We'd actually talked with a few "designers" in the past but found their ideas fussy and impractical. Phil is the real deal, not many contractors can blend his knowledge of design with seamless execution.

His crew was responsive, timely and very tidy! We're so pleased with the outcome. Next up: a bathroom!

Phil, Tim and crew were a delight to work with and we're very happy with the end result. This was not an easy remodel and we ran into structural issues, supply chain issues, etc. which is never fun, but changes were communicated quickly and effectively and there was always a strong sense of trust. I kinda miss having them around. There are so many more projects to do!

Wise Remodelers did a wonderful job finishing part of our basement. Thanks to them, we now have a beautiful sauna, bathroom, and laundry room. Most importantly, everything was thought out and planned properly, is done well and looks just like it should. Philip kept us informed of the project’s progress and communicated in a friendly and open manner. For example, to avoid problems in the future, Philip explained that ventilation and plumbing in the walls and ceiling surrounding the sauna needed to be rerouted to minimize any risk of humidity condensation. Details matter even in a big project! We’re thinking of finishing the rest of the basement. That will be our next project with Wise Remodelers.
